Why don't scientists use alternatives?
They do. It's the law and they are cheaper and faster than animal experiments. But some research questions can only be answered with animals. You cannot measure blood pressure in a test tube; you cannot predict on a computer scren how vital organs will interact when faced with a new medicine.
