DNA & Paternity Testing - Are You The Father Or Not

Although there are many single parent households these days, a child can still suffer negative effects of not knowing who their dad is. DNA and paternity testing can be the answer for this.
It does not matter how old the child is and testing can be done through a lab or at home. In fact, if it is just a matter of knowing who the father is for peace of mind, a home test might be a better solution. A home DNA and paternity test kit is just as effective as having it done at the lab.
If DNA and paternity testing is required due to a child custody suit, child support case or if the father is denying paternity, you may need to have a court ordered “legal”test done through a laboratory. This is typically because test results cannot be tampered with whereas a home kit could.
Another reason why DNA and paternity tests are being conducted is due to fathers finding out that they are not actually the father of a child but have been paying child support all along. This can be both distressing emotionally as well as financially for the father. Not to mention the sooner paternity is established, the better off it is for the child as well.
DNA and paternity testing is not 100% accurate, however, you can rest assure you will get 99.99% accuracy which makes this test extremely reliable. If done through the lab, you can also feel confident that you will be under complete confidentiality as well.
Typically the procedure is painless because the test today requires a simple swab of the cheek from both the father and child. It is just as effective as the older procedure of gathering blood through a syringe. The cheek swab gathers what is called Epithelial cells which are the same DNA found in blood.
There is no need to wait for results as results can usually be given within a matter of days. The only drawback to DNA and paternity testing is the need to make a decision if a professional laboratory procedure should be done versus a home test. Both will give same accurate results.
